I was recently invited to host a photography workshop at The Production Studio. As I had never hosted one before I wasn’t sure what to expect and even more so if it would do well. Much to my relief the workshop was a sell out.

Want to Look Like the Models on my Instagram?

Have you seen my Instagram? If so, you would have seen a lot of beautiful images of some amazing models.

Here’s a little truth about those models, they are just as human as you. What I’m getting at is you can look just as good as they do. It’s true, it’s what I have become very good at doing over the last 14 years. I manage to consistently achieve a certain level / standard of imagery and you can reap its’ benefits.

Imagine seeing yourself looking every ounce as amazing as them. You don’t have to take my word for it, simply ask those I’ve worked with.

Why NOT you?

If you’ve been on the fence about shooting, or don’t think you have what it takes, I would love the opportunity to prove you wrong and become friends in the process.

Don’t wait for the perfect time. Let a shoot be the motivator to get you to the shape you want to push yourself to be in. Challenge yourself – Lets do this!

Just message me and lets chat, paulbuceta@gmail.com You never know what might come of it.

If you feel someone you know can benefit from this, please share, especial because of this.

You should be on my Instagram.

Can you hear the pounding rhythm of music at the pool? Does it call to you? Does it seduce you? If so, you are part of the Vegas sisterhood.

The video below is from a Hotel Party Shoot. Keep in mind, we don’t need to shoot something like this. It was just something we thought would be fun to do.

Some random shots from prior trips.

Some of what we get to on our Vegas group trips.

Vegas Group Trips from Paul Buceta on Vimeo.
This is the awkward part to bring up as there is no way to sugar-coat it and not look like an asshole. This is a big point as ANYONE who has been on a trip will agree, PLEASE don’t bring boyfriends/husbands. Trust me, they bring the party down. If you have to bring your partner, we ask they not join us to the venues we are attending as groups. They can go but I ask you hang out with them rather than with us. This is out of respect for those that don’t necessarily want to hang out with your partner.
Also, Vegas can be difficult on relationships. Especially this one as we’re going to strike terror into the very heart of Vegas. I’ve seen it numerous times where you’re having the best time, fist pumping to music at the pool parties, taking cool selfies, posting how amazing a time you’re having but have it cut short by upset texts from your partner. Or worse, have to sit things out for fear of upsetting them. Social media (And just Vegas) can be a real strain. I don’t want to be responsible for problems in anyone’s relationship – If you don’t think yours is up for it, it’s probably best you sit this trip out.
Worth the read below. <GRIN>

Pricing Breakdown

I’m currently working towards making 2017 my last year for taking on most paid assignments.  This means after shooting professionally for over 13 years, availability for bookings will be greatly reduced.  If shooting together is a bucket item list, it’s now or never.

There are very few photographers out there that will give you all the images unedited, in hi-res. Very few.

That being said, lets break down exactly what you’re paying for when you book with me.

Assuming we shoot for a full day at $2800.00. You’re pretty assured to receive well over 3000 images. However, for the sake of modest calculation, lets say you ONLY get 3000 images. That being the case, you’re paying a whopping 93 cents per image.

93 cents per image gets you a full day shoot with me, make up and hair included, my studio or location AND 10 edits of you choice – not MY choice, but YOUR choice.

Now, lets compare with any other photographer that gives you 10 images from your shoot with them edited and that’s all. If their rate is similar to mine, you’re paying $280.00 per image. Remember also, you’re getting THEIR 10 favourites, not yours. This is a common practice in the photography world. It also applies to things like weddings and events. It’s basically an industry standard I chose to break from, that’s all. My intent is not to diminish any other’s work or business practice. I’m simply making a comparison.

When you’re at your computer with all your images that same night after our shoot, you’ll be able to post anything that suits your fancy. No having to wait for your images. 90% of models I work with never even ask me for edits. I shoot the images to look exactly the way I want them so I don’t need to edit. The majority of my work you see on social media is not edited. It simply doesn’t need it.

The 10,000 Hour Rule by Malcolm Gladwell holds that 10,000 hours of “deliberate practice” are needed to become world-class in any field. I’ve certainly put in my time. Take advantage of it while you can.

All images below are unedited (With the exception of adding my watermark for trademark purposes).

.

Here’s something else to consider.

You’re probably wondering why stopping after only 13 years? Truth is I’m not stopping, I simply want to shoot more creative concepts as well as location shoots.

If you know people that might want to shoot, I kindly ask you share this.

Looking forward to working with you!

Below are just a few success stories from my last group shoots.

I had shot Jessica Rinaldi in a suite at an expo. Her physique, style and character enticed me enough to show her to the team for being considered for a cover for STRONG Fitness Magazine. She got it, and not just one cover – She landed two.  She is now an Ambassador and heading up STRONGCAMP Las Vegas and STRONGCAMP and New Mexico.

Fast forward another shoot and she’s got herself another cover!

Jessica Rinaldi - STRONG Cover

I showed Kelsey Byers’ images to Oxygen Magazine and she raised some eyebrows. As a result, she flew up to my studio in Toronto to shoot for them. Since then, she’s appeared on Oxygen’s Off The Couch Cover. Since then, Kelsey has become a STRONGCAMP Ambassador and has headed up her own camp in Houston.

Kelsey Byers and Rita Catolino
I showed Holly Barker’s images to Allure Lingerie, one of the clients I shoot for regularly. As a result, she landed some real well paying catalogue work. She flew into Toronto and we shot an entire line for them.

Holly Barker

Jessie Hilgenberg booked me at an expo. This was our first meeting.  Before heading to the expo, Oxygen told me they needed some good abs shot and I knew she would be perfect for it… And was she ever, landing an amazing two page spread. It doesn’t end there either, I invited Jessie to host various STRONGCAMPS for STRONG Fitness Magazine.

Jessie Hilgenberg

Holly Bricken showed some of the images we shot to a few magazines and got an amazing two page spread from it in Muscle and Fitness. Oxygen also liked what they saw and booked her to shoot. She currently has a 5 page spread from that shoot – Congrats Holly!

I have a bunch of awesome behind the scenes images from my last shoot with Bunny Azzopardi that I had wanted to share on social media outlets but fear they would violate their Terms of Use. NOTE: Italicized pun. That being the case I thought I’d share them on here instead.

Working with Bunny is always fun because we never know what we’re going to get. She shows up with a few outfits and I try to make something work with what we have. Every shoot starts the same too. We always say we doubt we’re going to top the last one – And then we do exactly that.

Thanks for making me look good Bunny.

Caught Red-Handed

I’m going to share a story a good friend of mine told me a little while back. To be fair to everyone and to maintain a degree of respect and kindness, I won’t be sharing names.

My friend manages a really big bar. One evening after close she noticed when approaching her car, that it had been vandalized. To be specific, her rear side-view mirror had be smashed off.

Being late, she just picked up the peices and called it a night.

The next morning the investigation began. She pulled the bar’s security footage and it didn’t take long till she saw the two guys responsible being all cool and ‘gangsta’ vandalizing her car. From there, they simply walked to the bar. She switched cameras and low and behold, there they are at the entrance getting their ID’s checked and scanned. Knowing the exact time, she was able to pull the scanned ID’s and now had in her possession the ‘gangta’s’ names, addresses and birthdays (should she want to send birthday wishes).

Being more kind than most people I know and remarkably calm about the whole thing, she didn’t want to involve the police, she just wanted the damaged they caused fixed. She easily found them on Facebook and reached out to them both explaining everything and asking as politely as she could that they just make it right. Instead of ‘manning up’ they chose to ignore and then block her. (Their level of intelligence or pride must have really messed with them) They really didn’t think this through, I mean what did they think the alternative they were leaving her was?

Leaving her no other option she goes to the police station with all the evidence and files a report. In no time she receives a call from a police officer, apparently one of the guys is his son. He apologizes profusely and agrees to fix all the damage caused. Obviously my friend was more than happy to withdraw her report/statement (not sure how that works).

Everything is now fixed and I can’t help feel kind of badly for the two.

We were chuckling about this the other day on how ‘gangsta’ they must have thought they were only to end up humiliated and most likely grounded for something so ridiculously stupid. [FAIL]
The real sad part is that boy now has to look his father in the eye knowing that his dad knows the kind of person he is. Oh I’m sure the kids will grow out of it and could very well turn out to be good people, but the ongoing shame and humiliation will far outweigh the ‘fun’ in their act.

This is a bit of an ongoing issue for some of the models I’ve worked with so I thought I’d address it and help give them some leverage. If you agree with me consider sharing to help spread the message.

If anyone ever comments negatively about your image, share this video with them.

I plan to elaborate on this topic as time permits, for now I’ll simply let the video speak for itself.

I love all your images and am thrilled to see you share them.

A Recap of Our Last Vegas Adventure

The Paul Buceta Las Vegas Pool Party is done for this season. This post is currently a first draft as there are SO many images to sort through but rest assured I will be adding them here as I find. Please be sure to check back.

*****

This past weekend I went to Las Vegas. For those of you who don’t know, I go every so often with a group of models with the goal of having a life-changing experience, and you’d be surprised by just how much.

The adventure begins on the Wednesday. We all aim to arrive for noon that day as we meet at the Hard Rock pool. By this point we are all on Whatsapp and have already been in constant communications about schedules, locations and namely our crazy excitement to meet everyone and have the time of our lives. I admittedly will have sent at least one stupid inappropriate image that raised the bar for everyone else.

You can imagine the meet and greet comes with a lot of pent up excitement so it has without surprise, been one of the most dangerous days for everyone as the moment has arrived. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been one of the first ones down for the count on one, or two, (or three) occasions. I guess I’m just the most excited. (LMAO)

Most of the images below were courtesy Nichole LeAnne.

The video below is a story from a Vegas trip. It may of may not have been from this trip.

This happened in Vegas and didn't stay in Vegas…#findyourselfapaul

Posted by Paul Buceta on Monday, August 28, 2017

*****

The private shoots happened on the Thursday and they were simply magical. I shouldn’t be surprised though, many of my favorite images happen there. I’ll begin the gallery below with images taken using my logo’s sign from this last trip and will continue with past trips. The make up and hair for these was by Monica Kalra. (I will be adding over time as I can find them so please check back) You will be seeing images from these shoots on the models individual pages so I recommend following all of them to see more.

HELP! If we have shot in Vegas – Send me your favorite pic and I’ll add it here.

I do my best to make every adventure a little different, which becomes more difficult with each passing trip.  The group shoot is always a highlight of the trip as everyone wants to be part of them. We’ve done group shoots ranging from hotel suites to crashed planes in the desert. Below are a few samples of what we’ve been up to.

*****

Still on the Thursday, we aimed to mix things up by taking the group shoot to the strip. We grabbed a couple tall drinks and off we went… I should mention that none of these images are edited.

*****

As you can see we ended up at Harra’s Carnaval Court where The Droids were playing live. I actually know one of the performers and we got right up front. The girls loved dancing and cheering them on and it was a real treat that they were invited to get on stage to dance and sing live with the band. I was grinning ear to ear the entire time – I was just SO happy and proud of all of them.

Talk about another experience of a lifetime in just two days!

I don’t just want to go and shoot in Las Vegas because it’s cool, I want to provide an experience for the models (my friends) unlike anything they have ever imagined.

To do this, I have two rules for the trip – 1. The model has to come alone. The purpose of this is to insure they stay with the group which adds to the comradery. 2. If it’s the model’s first trip with us, she HAS to skydive – No exceptions. Sharing what feels like a near-death experience at the time, helps with the bonding and offers an experience unlike anything imaginable. If you can jump out of a plane, you can do anything, and that’s right up this trip’s alley.

The exhilaration of conquering their fears.

Make no mistake, these trips create lifelong memories and friendships, simply ask anyone that has come to one and they will quickly and excitedly tell you about their experiences.

“Is this real life?!?! Because the past few days have felt like a dream. I feel so honored to have spent the past 5 days in Las Vegas shooting with the amazing Paul Buceta and a wonderful group of girls I now call my friends. Here’s to Cisco, being rockstars for a night, and jumping out of airplanes because you have to fly to be one of Paul’s Angels in Paradise.” Megan Amerson

This brings me to the Saturday which was spent at Wet Republic Pool. Admittedly, Vegas got the best of me as I had to leave with my tail between my legs a bit early. ALMOST never happens to me….

For now, here is a video from our last pool party. It’s pretty much the same thing every time.

I’ll be asking the girls to send me some of their pics from the pool party to share here. I’ll post what I can.
***hangs head in shame***

And to everyone that has EVER attended one of these I thank you, you have left a lasting impression – one I will never forget.
You have my eternal gratitude.

THANK YOU!
